Class of 1956 graduate, honoree
has excelled in three fields
A member of the class of 1956 and one of this year’s Texas State Distinguished Alumni honorees, Burris was an attorney from 1963 until his retirement in 1999.
He was a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves for almost 38 years, achieving the rank of major general.
And during all that time, and since retiring from the active practice of the law, he has operated a ranch in South Texas.
He also has served as a trustee of the Mary Dinn Reynolds Methodist Foundation, a charitable foundation that distributes thousands of dollars each year, since 1975.
