Bobcats schedule football series
against Navy, Wyoming
Texas State athletic director Larry Teis announced Tuesday that the Bobcats have scheduled home-and-home football series against the U.S. Naval Academy and the University of Wyoming.
The Bobcats will face Navy on Nov. 17, 2012, at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium in Annapolis, Md., and on Sept. 19, 2015, at Bobcat Stadium in San Marcos.
Texas State will play Wyoming on Sept. 10, 2011, at War Memorial Stadium at Laramie, Wyo., and Sept. 28, 2013, at Bobcat Stadium.
“We are excited to have two teams with such a rich history and tradition coming to play in San Marcos,” Teis said on the department’s Facebook page. “These are great games for us to play both at home and on the road. When we began our move to the FBS, these were two of the teams that we wanted to reach out to and schedule.”
Texas State will join the FBS-level Western Athletic Conference in July 2012, along with UT-San Antonio and the University of Denver. The current members of the WAC are New Mexico State University, San Jose State University, Utah State University, University of Hawai’i Manoa, University of Idaho and Louisiana Tech University.
