Holidays: Moving Boxes

Moving stuff over the break? Texas State can help.

The Texas State Recycling Center offers free moving boxes as part of the university’s efforts to reduce, reuse and recycle. The boxes, ranging in size depending on what has been collected, are offered on a first-come, first-serve basis.

“Moving boxes are available to all students, faculty and staff,” says Jenna Gonzales of Texas State Recycling and Waste Management. “They must pick them up personally; we cannot deliver them.”

The Recycling Center is located at 602 Moore St. on the west side of campus. Boxes can be picked up between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

After the winter break, used boxes can be returned to the Recycling Center to be reused or recycled.

  1. I really wish this service was offered back in 2004 when I was a student. I never bought boxes, but found that Liquor stores always had an abundance of boxes that they were more than happy to give away.

  2. For money strapped college students, free boxes are great. Now if they can just give away free room and board.
