Mathworks summer program now accepting applications online

Mathworks students at the 2010 Siemens Regional Finals with Dr. Max Warshauer, Regents Professor of Mathematics at Texas State University and the director and founder of Mathworks.

The Mathworks Honors Summer Math Camp (HSMC) at Texas State University is now accepting applications for the 2011 program. The HSMC inspires and encourages high school students of all backgrounds to do mathematics at a high level.

The six-week residential summer math program is held on the campus of Texas State University-San Marcos. Now in its 22nd year, the HSMC provides a unique learning environment that develops talented youth to be future leaders in the science, engineering and mathematics fields.

Students are taught by university faculty, mentored by undergraduate counselors, and share the joy of exploring mathematics with their peers. Courses include Number Theory, Mathematica Lab and Honors Seminar. Weekends are filled with engaging guest speakers and field trips.

The full tuition fee is $2,700. Limited financial aid is available to those who demonstrate need. Mathworks makes all efforts to ensure that admitted students can attend regardless of financial background. Questions regarding applications should be directed to or 512.245.3439.

Mathworks’ mission is to develop model programs and self-sustaining learning communities that engage K-12 students in doing mathematics at a high level. Programs include Summer Math Camps, Teacher Training and Curriculum Development.
