Texas State Mobile 2.0 puts
campus in your pocket
The new version will allow frequent updates and easy-to-access content, including news and announcements from the university and posts from the Texas State Blog. It also will feature live tracking of Bobcat Tram bus routes, using GPS technology.
Users can download or upgrade to the app for free at the iTunes store.
Texas State Mobile 2.0 is much more like a mobile website, with easy-access buttons for exploring content, as well as a user-customizable toolbar. Users can choose from 16 shortcut buttons that can be moved to the bar at the bottom of the main screen.
The updated app has added online content from the University Star, and it continues to offer live streaming from KTSW-FM. The homepage will feature videos of outstanding Texas State students and faculty, as part of the Rising Stars series.
The app still features links to the campus directory and map, Bobcat Athletics, social media, and content from Student Recreation and the Alkek Library.
A version for the Android operating system is in development and should be available by the end of the semester.
