Update: Accessible Path

Accessible pathways will be rerouted during spring break

Beginning Monday, March 14, at 7 a.m., it will be necessary for the Office of Facilities, Planning, Design and Construction to reroute the accessible and non-accessible circulation pathways around the Undergraduate Academic Center construction site. This will impact the accessible ramp on the south side of Alkek Library.

An irrigation system leak has been discovered under the sidewalk south of Alkek Library and north of the UAC construction site. Emergency repairs are needed in order to resume irrigation services to the landscaping west of Alkek Library. The repair work and the sidewalk restoration will be completed Friday, March 18, at 5 p.m.

Please see the plans for the re-routed accessible path and the non-accessible path below:

The accessible path will be from the second floor of Alkek Library, down the elevators to the first floor, and through the corridors to the east exit door to the plaza. Electronic card access is needed to open the outside exit door and to enter the Library on the first floor. If you are a student with a disability who needs an electronic card for access through Alkek Library during this repair work, please contact the Library Circulation Desk at 512.245.3681.
