Ransone to serve as head trainer
for U.S. at world track championships
Dr. Jack Ransone, a member of the faculty in Texas State’s Department of Health and Human Performance, has been named the head athletic trainer for Team USA’s track and field squads at the 2011 IAAF World Championships in Athletics.
The meet will be in Daegu, South Korea, Aug. 27–Sept. 4.
He also has been invited to be a keynote speaker at the Korean International Congress on Athletics prior to the start of the championships.
Ransone has been at Texas State since 2003 and has been the medical coordinator for the San Antonio Spurs since 2010. A 1982 Texas State graduate, Ransone earned his doctorate in exercise science from the University of New Mexico and a fellowship from the American College of Sports Medicine.
He serves on the Sports Medicine and Science Executive Committee for USA Track and Field, and was medical coordinator for the U.S. track team at the 2008 Olympics.
