Texas State Updates: Bobcats in Baseball

Tracking Texas State players
in professional baseball

Here’s the weekly update on former Texas State players playing the majors and minors from Atlanta to Rancho Cucamonga.

In the midst of what is already an impressive power-hitting season, former Bobcats first baseman Paul Goldschmidt is showing something else: Patience. In addition to leading the Southern League in home runs, runs batted in, total bases and slugging percentage, he is tops in on-base percentage, thanks to a league-high 30 walks.

New to the list this week thanks to a tip from a fan is Josh Walter, who is pitching for Rancho Cucamonga, the Los Angeles Dodgers’ affiliate in the Class A California League.

As always, tips on more Bobcats in the minor leagues can be sent to socialnet@txstate.edu.
