Texas State Updates: Bobcats in Baseball

Former Bobcat continues drive
to Major League Baseball


Paul Goldschmidt, a first baseman for the Arizona Diamondbacks drafted in 2009 from Texas State, is on the roster for the 2011 MLB All-Star Futures game, to be played at Chase Field in Phoenix on July 10. Reviewer John Sickels writes that he is a “tremendous power bat with superb plate discipline, a sleeper prospect who has truly blossomed.” Goldschmidt is expected to enter the majors in the 2012 season.
