Happenings: Summer Commencement

Paws up, graduates! Ceremony brings Bobcat pride to “Pomp”

By Catherine Harper

The graduating class of 2011 attended the Summer Commencement Ceremony this Friday celebrating their achievement.

Summer 2011 Commencement took place this Friday, Aug. 12 for Texas State’s newest graduates, spreading the ferocity of Bobcat pride and tradition to the joyous summer day. Keynote speaker Charles Amato, chairman of the Texas State University system Board of Regents, delivered the Commencement Address, inspiring graduates as they now embark on their journey — diploma in hand.

With sunny skies and warm congratulations from friends and family, Texas State graduates threw their caps and paws up in the air to celebrate commencement, the highest honor and final capstone to their college experience.
