Bobcat Day gives future students
inside look at Texas State life
Bobcat Days welcome prospective freshmen and transfer students to experience Texas State. Held twice each semester, these day-long events give interested students and their guests the opportunity to explore the campus and talk one-on-one with current students, faculty and staff.
The final Bobcat Day for 2011 will be this Saturday, Nov. 19, at the San Marcos campus. Subsequent Bobcat Days will be held Feb. 25 and Apr. 21, 2012. You can register online by clicking here or register the morning of the event when you arrive on campus. All Bobcat Day activities are free.
Bobcat Day activities include registration and check-in (where you’ll receive your free Texas State T-shirt); a welcome session; information sessions about colleges, financial aid and admissions; the Bobcat Day Browse, where you can talk with faculty and staff about specific programs and aspects of campus life; student panels, where you can ask current students anything you want; campus tours; and residence hall tours. Registration and check-in start at 8:30 a.m. and events conclude at 3 p.m.
Here’s a few tips to keep in mind while you make your Bobcat Day plans:
- Be on time. To get the most out of Bobcat Day, arrive before check-in begins at 9 a.m.
- Find your way using sandwich board signs placed around campus to direct visitors. Use the campus map included in your Bobcat Day program (received at check-in) as well.
- Wear comfortable walking shoes. Our beautiful campus is very hilly.
- Plan to be flexible. Information sessions can fill up quickly, so select a couple you’re interested in for each time period.
