Compassion knows no borders

The Human-Environmental-Animal Team (H.E.A.T.) is a community service organization dedicated to humanitarian work, environmental conservation and animal welfare, all while focusing on positive activism. Rather than focusing on conventional sad statistics and depressing photos, H.E.A.T. aims to incorporate humor, art and creativity into projects to help solve real-world issues.
In September and October of 2011, Bastrop community members experienced tragic losses during the fires that swept the area. A Texas State student wanted to find a way to help. She found the opportunity through H.E.A.T., one of Texas State’s 360+ student organizations.
During that time, H.E.A.T. also launched its first international project for a school in Colombia. Both of these projects were created and led by passionate students. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MlwvUp1HjG8
If you’d like to get involved in H.E.A.T., attend a meeting on Thursday, February 27 at 7:30 PM in Supple 116.
